MOUNT PLEASANT – The Central Michigan University Athletics Department has announced the hiring of Elise Paulson as the compliance coordinator.
“I am looking forward to becoming an integral part of Central Michigan Athletics and helping our coaches and staff be as successful off the field as they are on the field,” Paulson said.
The Evanston, Ill., native will work primarily with financial aid and monitoring within the compliance department, and will also assist with educational efforts and waivers.
Paulson's prior experience in the fields of athletics and academics is expansive. She most recently served as an academic advisor at Lehigh Carbon Community College for a year, and was the Assistant Director of Academic Affairs for Varsity Athletics and Compliance Coordinator for a year at Loyola University Maryland.
She also served as Compliance Coordinator and as an Athletic Academic Advisor at Utah Valley University during the 2008-2009 academic year.
“The most rewarding part of my previous positions has been the relationships I have created with coaches, student-athletes and administrators,” Paulson said. “It is through those relationships that I have been able to grow in this career and now have the opportunity to work at CMU.”
In addition, she has worked for OTG Sports Management as the Director of External Relations and Marketing (2007-2008), and for the Arena Football League's Chicago Rush as a Game Operations Assistant (2006-2008). She served as a football manager for the University of Illinois throughout her graduate and undergraduate careers.
Paulson earned both her graduate and undergraduate degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She earned her Master of Education in Human Resource Development in December of 2006, and her Bachelor of Science in Leisure Studies with a concentration in Sport Management in May of 2005.
