Marcy Weston, one of the iconic figures in Central Michigan University Athletics history, will be honored on Monday, April 27, at McGuirk Arena in the CMU Events Center.

The event is open to the public and begins with a social hour at 5:30 p.m. The dinner and program are scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.

It is an opportunity to thank Weston for her many years of dedication and congratulate her as she retires after a career in which she made an immeasurable impact on Central Michigan University athletics and has helped to change the landscape of intercollegiate athletics.

Cost is $40 per person and space is limited. Attendees may register atcmich.edu/alumni/events or by calling alumni relations, (800) 358-6903.

Weston has served in varied roles in her four-plus decades at CMU, including as an instructor, as a coach, and as an administrator. As a testament to her stature at CMU, the university's Athletics Hall of Fame is named in her honor.

Outside of CMU, Weston officiated two NCAA Women's Basketball National Championship games, was named by the NCAA as one of the nine major contributors to the first decade of women's college basketball, is a member of the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame, and in 2008 received the prestigious Gold Whistle Award from the National Association of Sports Officials. She eventually became the Big Ten Supervisor of Officials and NCAA Secretary-Rules Editor/National Coordinator of Officials.

Fran Koenig, Jane McNamara, and Marcy Weston Pioneers in Women's Sports Endowment
Since announcing her retirement in December, we have received overwhelming requests for ways in which friends and supporters can express their appreciation for Marcy's commitment to intercollegiate athletics. After receiving Marcy's support, we have added her name to the "Fran Koenig, Jane McNamara Pioneer in Women's Sports Endowment". This endowment provides additional funding specifically for the benefit of our women's sports teams here at CMU.

Our goal is to raise $250,000 in support of this endowment by Marcy's Gala Celebration on April 27, 2015. We will continue to raise support for this endowment in the coming years as part of a university wide Capital Campaign and have established an overall goal of $1,000,000 for this initiative by the conclusion of that endeavor.

By making a commitment to the "Fran Koenig, Jane McNamara, and Marcy Weston Pioneers in Women's Sports Endowment", you will not only demonstrate your appreciation to Marcy for her remarkable career, but will demonstrate your commitment to our women's sports initiatives that Marcy represents.
