CMU head coach and former Team USA Olympic coach Margo Jonker is ranked 10th all-time in NCAA Division I softball history and has led the Chippewas to 11 Mid-American Conference titles and 13 trips to the NCAA tournament.  Jonker, along with her experienced coaching staff, can help you take all aspects of your game to the next level at the CMU Softball camp.

Camp Ends:  5:00 p.m. at the CMU Softball Complex
Camp Runs:  9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Your day at the CMU softball camp will consist of various drills that will help to improve your game in the areas of base running, hitting to all fields, overhand throwing techniques, offensive and defensive stations.  Pitchers and catchers can choose to focus strictly on these areas or combine with the position players for part of their day.

FACILITIES

 

Central Michigan University’s Margo Jonker Stadium features spacious dugouts, seating for 1,000, concession stand, restrooms, a meeting room and a large press box with lounge area.  The complex also has batting cages and the fences measure 200 feet down the lines and 220 in center field.

 

Central Michigan’s indoor athletic facilities cover more than 500,000 square feet, including the multimillion-dollar Indoor Athletic Complex, completed in 1999.  The facility features a 100-yard turf bay with eight batting cages, a 200-meter track bay and a 7,500 square-foot strength and conditioning center.  The nearby Student Activity Center features a 6, 800 square-foot weight fitness center, aquatic center and more.

REFUND POLICY

Cancellations 72 hours (three days) or more before the start of camp will be refunded in full, minus a nonrefundable $50 deposit.  Cancellations after 72-hour period before the start of camp will be refunded up to 50 percent of the amount paid, minus the nonrefundable deposit.  After camps begin, prorated refunds are given only in instances of illness or injury.  Please submit refund requests in writing by e-mail (cmucamps@cmich.edu), fax (989-774-2540) or mail (postmark date applies).  June camp refund requests will be considered if received by July 3, 2009.  July camp refund requests will be considered if received by August 4, 2009.

MEDICAL CARE AND CAMP CONDUCT

Each camp participant must have received a physical examination within the year before attending camp and must be certified by his or her physician as physically able to participate in the sports camp. CMU will provide a fully qualified trainer during instruction times.

Medical bills are the responsibility of the participant’s parent or guardian. CMU carries excess medical insurance with limits up to $2,000 per accident per participant, subject to a $500 deductible. This means the coverage is in excess of the participant’s own insurance, or in excess of a $500 deductible, whichever amount is greater. The deductible and any other medical expenses not covered by insurance are the responsibility of the participant’s parent or guardian.

Campers must attend all sessions unless excused for medical reasons. Campers who do not follow conduct rules for camp will be dismissed without a fee refund. Use of drugs or alcohol is prohibited. CMU reserves the right to cancel any of its sports camps up to one month before the starting date of the camp.
