We would like to invite you to attend one of our outstanding summer football camps.  Our camp program has a second-to-none reputation for fundamental instruction for all positions.  To continue this reputation we have assembled some of the finest coaches in the game of football.  These fine coaches represent coaching experience from almost every level of football and will provide you with the finest camp experience that you can obtain anywhere in the country.  Our outstanding facilities and top-end residence halls will give you the best possible environment for instruction and fun.  I encourage you and your teammates to enroll and start your work toward the goal of becoming the best player possible.

Our camp will be executed with great organization and a high energy coaching style that will give you the competitive edge you need to succeed.  We are excited to have you at our camp and we look forward to introducing you to Central Michigan University and the Championship Culture that we provide within our program.

One-day Camps
Date:  June 6, 7, 18, 2009 (choose one)
Grades:  10-12
Commuting (includes lunch only):  $30 pre-registered, $40 walk-in
Registration:  10:00-11:00 a.m. in Indoor Athletic Complex Track Bay
Camp Ends:  3:00 p.m. in the Indoor Athletic Complex
First Session Begins:  11:00 a.m.
Lunch is included in cost of camp

Pick a date that fits your schedule!  This one-day camp experience offers instruction in physical testing and overall football technique.  Helmets are required for this camp!

Kicking/Punting/Long Snapping Camp
Date:  June 12, 2009
Grades:  8-12
Commuting (includes lunch only):  $70
Registration:  9:00-10:00 a.m. in Indoor Athletic Complex Track Bay
Camp Ends:  3:30 p.m. in the Indoor Athletic Complex
First Session Begins:  10:00 a.m.

This packed one-day course focuses on the development of skills and techniques for kicking, punting, long snapping and ball holding for field goals and extra points.  Instruction will be provided within two separate schools.  The kicker/punter school will include training on stance, steps, planting and making adjustments.  The long snapping school will teach the long and short snap.  The afternoon session will bring both schools together for practical application.  Campers will be divided into groups based on skill level.

Big Man Camp
Date:  June 13, 2009                                                                       
Grades: Varsity Level
Cost:  $40 preregistered and $50 walk-ins
Registration:  10:30-11:30 a.m. in the Indoor Athletic Complex Track Bay
Camp Runs:  11:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Enjoy competing against other schools in a 7 on 7 format.  A champion will be crowned. While the skill players compete, your linemen can train in a separate school learning technique in run blocking and pass protection.  Helmets are required for this camp.

Varsity Individual/Team Camp
Date:  June 21-23, 2009
Grades:  9-12
Commuting (includes lunch only):  $200
Boarding (includes housing and meals:  $295
Registration: Noon-1:00 p.m.
First Session Begins:  1:00 p.m.
Camp Ends:  4:00 p.m. on July 23rd
First Meal:  Dinner on June 21st

This camp is divided into separate schools for an intense and fun camp.  Athletes are grouped with others from their respective schools to enhance team concepts and unity. Helmets are required for this camp.

FACILITIES

Central Michigan’s indoor athletic facilities cover more than 500,000 square feet, including the multimillion-dollar Indoor Athletic Complex, completed in 1999.  The facility features a 100-yard turf bay with eight batting cages, a 200-meter track bay and a 7,500 square-foot strength and conditioning center.  The nearby Student Activity Center features a 6, 800 square-foot weight fitness center, aquatic center and more. GROUP DISCOUNTS/REFUND POLICY

Group Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more when all registrations are submitted together.  You may not enroll online using a group discount.  Please contact the sports camp office for more information at 800-CMU-4FUN

 

Cancellations 72 hours (three days) or more before the start of camp will be refunded in full, minus a nonrefundable $50 deposit.  Cancellations after 72-hour period before the start of camp will be refunded up to 50 percent of the amount paid, minus the nonrefundable deposit.  After camps begin, prorated refunds are given only in instances of illness or injury.  Please submit refund requests in writing by e-mail (cmucamps@cmich.edu), fax (989-774-2540) or mail (postmark date applies).  June camp refund requests will be considered if received b y July 3, 2009.  July camp refund requests will be considered if received by August 4, 2009.

MEDICAL CARE AND CAMP CONDUCT

Each camp participant must have received a physical examination within the year before attending camp and must be certified by his or her physician as physically able to participate in the sports camp.  CMU will provide a fully qualified trainer during instruction times.

Medical bills are the responsibility of the participant’s parent or guardian.  CMU carries excess medical insurance with limits up to $2,000 per accident per participant, subject to a $500 deductible.  This means the coverage is in excess of the participant’s own insurance, or in excess of a $500 deductible, whichever amount is greater.  The deductible and any other medical expenses not covered by insurance are the responsibility of the participant’s parent or guardian.

Campers must attend all sessions unless excused for medical reasons.  Campers who do not follow conduct rules for camp will be dismissed without a fee refund.  Use of drugs or alcohol is prohibited.  CMU reserves the right to cancel any of its sports camps up to one month before the starting date of the camp.
