Central Michigan University Volleyball Team Camps

CMU volleyball camps offer high school varsity and junior varsity teams opportunities to train and compete under the guidance of CMU's outstanding coach staff.  CMU head coach and 2008 MAC Coach of the Year Erik Olson and his exceptional staff lead the camps.  Two different team sessions are offered to give head coaches the choice on selecting what camp will best fit their team

Instructional Team Camp
Date:  July 8-10, 2009
JV and Varsity Teams (minimum of eight players per team)
Boarding (includes meals and housing):  $260 per person
Commuting (includes lunch only):  $180 per person
Registration:  8:00 a.m. 9:00 a.m. in Rose Center
Camp Ends:  8:00 p.m. in Rose/Student Activity Center
First Session Begins:  9:30 a.m.
First Meal:  Lunch on July 8th

This camp features a concentrated teaching of individual and team skills as well as offensive and defensive systems of play.  Each team is paired with one of our exceptional staff members to assist in training your team. This camp will include tactical and technical training sessions followed by daily competitions.

Date:  July 18-19, 2009
Varsity Teams Only (minimum of eight players per team)
Boarding (includes meals and housing):  $200 per person
Commuting (includes lunch only):  $135 per person
Registration:  8:00 - 9:00 a.m. in Rose Center
Camp Ends:  8:00 p.m. in Rose/Student Activity Center
First Session Begins:  9:30 a.m.
First Meal:  Lunch on July 18th

Teams enrolled in this camp will have opportunities to compete against other area teams.

FACILITIES

Central Michigan’s Rose Arena is the primary competition area for Chippewa Volleyball.  Instruction will take place in Rose Arena and in the nearby Student Activity Center.  The Student Activity Center features a 6,800-square-foot weight fitness center, aquatic center and more.

Central Michigan’s indoor athletic facilities cover more than 500,000 square feet, including the multimillion-dollar Indoor Athletic Complex, completed in 1999.  The facility features a 100-yard turf bay with eight batting cages, a 200-meter track bay and a 7,500 square-foot strength and conditioning center.  The nearby Student Activity Center features a 6, 800 square-foot weight fitness center, aquatic center and more.

REFUND POLICY

Group A $200 deposit will reserve your teams spot in the 2009 Central Michigan University Team Camp.  Coaches who enroll their team prior to May 1, 2009 will receive a $5 per person discount.  The original rate will apply for team registrations postmarked May 2, 2009, and later.  Deposit is forfeited if your team cancels.

One coach attends free with each team.  Additional coaches may attend at a discounted rate please contact the camp office at 800-268-4386 for more information.

 

MEDICAL CARE AND CAMP CONDUCT

Each camp participant must have received a physical examination within the year before attending camp and must be certified by his or her physician as physically able to participate in the sports camp.  CMU will provide a fully qualified trainer during instruction times.

Medical bills are the responsibility of the participant’s parent or guardian.  CMU carries excess medical insurance with limits up to $2,000 per accident per participant, subject to a $500 deductible.  This means the coverage is in excess of the participant’s own insurance, or in excess of a $500 deductible, whichever amount is greater.  The deductible and any other medical expenses not covered by insurance are the responsibility of the participant’s parent or guardian.

Campers must attend all sessions unless excused for medical reasons.  Campers who do not follow conduct rules for camp will be dismissed without a fee refund.  Use of drugs or alcohol is prohibited.  CMU reserves the right to cancel any of its sports camps up to one month before the starting date of the camp.
