Student-Athletes Volunteer with Michigan Special Olympics

MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan University's student-athletes did their part to help make the 2009 Michigan Special Olympics Summer Games a success.

Approximately 2,300 participants competed in the 2009 summer games, held annually on CMU's campus. Chippewa student-athletes and staff members volunteered throughout the weekend, beginning with last Thursday's opening ceremony when they greeted and congratulated the participants as they entered Kelly/Shorts Stadium.

Student-athletes also helped staff competitions throughout the weekend.
