MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Two members of the Central Michigan Athletic Department staff with deep ties to the university have been named to new positions.
Peter Maniez was named the Assistant Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement, and Katie Cooley was named Assistant Director of Ticket Operations.
“Pete and Katie bring an exciting and energetic movement to our marketing and ticketing areas,” said Mike Dabbs, Assistant Athletic Director for Ticketing Sales and Revenue. “I am most excited that we were able to bring two exceptional people to our department. I am confident both will bring each area to new and exciting levels of engagement and service to our fans. “
Maniez, who hails from St. Johns, earned his Bachelor of Applied Arts in Recreation, Parks and Leisure Services Administration from Central Michigan.
Cooley, a native of Monroe, holds two degrees from CMU, a Master of Arts in Sport Administration, and a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Sports Studies.
Maniez will assist with game coordination, fan engagement strategies, and ticket initiatives and will direct community relations efforts such as the C.A.R.E. program and the Chippewa Kids Club. He worked as a graduate assistant in CMU’s athletic ticketing and marketing department for the past 12 months.
Cooley’s duties will entail management of all facets of ticketing operations for the athletics department and to serve as the day to day liaison with Ticket Central.
She has worked as a senior sales associate at the University of Tennessee and as a ticket sales coordinator with the Detroit Tigers. She has also worked with the Toledo Mud Hens and Great Lakes Loons before working as a graduate assistant at CMU.
