Football, Volleyball on the Agenda

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan’s showdown with Western Michigan and the Chippewa volleyball program are on the docket Thursday on Sideliners, presented by Fabiano Brothers.

The show, live at Hunter’s Ale House in Mount Pleasant, will begin at 6 p.m.

Host Don Chiodo welcomes CMU football coach John Bonamego and first-year CMU volleyball coach Mike Gawlik.

The CMU football team takes on archrival Western Michigan on Saturday at Kelly/Shorts Stadium in the Mid-American Conference opener for both teams. The Chippewas are 3-1, Western is 4-0.

The Chippewa volleyball team will make its home debut this weekend when it faces two MAC opponents, Northern Illinois and Western Michigan. CMU and the Huskies square off at 7 p.m. on Friday at McGuirk Arena; the Chippewas and Broncos play Sunday at 3 p.m.

Also slated to join the show are CMU offensive line coach Derek Frazier and linemen J.P. Quinn and Austin Doan along with volleyball team members Courtney Hiltibran and Jordan Bueter.

The show will be aired live on WUPS-FM 98.5.

There is no admission charge and an RSVP is not necessary. Fans arriving before 6 p.m. will have the opportunity to interact with coaching staff and student-athletes in an informal setting.
