Football, Volleyball on Sideliners' Docket

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Football and volleyball are on the agenda this week at Sideliners, presented by Fabiano Brothers, the weekly radio show broadcast from Hunter’s Ale House in Mount Pleasant and aired live on WUPS-FM 98.5.

Host Don Chiodo welcomes CMU football coach John Bonamego and volleyball coach Mike Gawlik.

The CMU football team, fresh off its 24-21 homecoming victory over Ball State, goes to Northern Illinois on Saturday for a Mid-American Conference game. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. CMU is 4-2, 1-1 MAC; NIU is 1-5, 1-1.

The Chippewa volleyball team entertains two MAC opponents this weekend. On Friday, CMU welcomes Miami (Ohio) and Saturday it entertains Bowling Green. Both matches begin at 7 p.m. CMU is 8-10 overall, 2-4 league. Miami is 14-4 overall and leads the MAC East at 6-0. The Falcons are 13-6, 3-3.

Also slated to join the show are CMU running backs coach Gino Guidugli, along with running backs Devon Spalding and Joe Bacci. CMU volleyball team members Jessica Meichtry and Taylor Robertson.

The show begins at 6 p.m., there is no admission charge, and an RSVP is not necessary. Fans arriving before 6 p.m. will have the opportunity to interact with coaching staff and student-athletes in an informal setting.
