Ivkovich Joins CMU as Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning

MOUNT PLEASANT Central Michigan University Director of Athletics Dave Heeke has announced the addition of Paul Ivkovich as Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning at CMU.

“Paul is a great addition to our strength and conditioning staff,” Dave Lawson, director of strength and conditioning said. “He brings intensity, toughness and the focus needed to help in the development of a championship athlete.

“He is the type of coach that brings high energy and passion every time he walks into the building. He knows when and how hard to push the athletes on an individual basis so that they see success. We are taking our strength program here at Central Michigan to a higher level and Paul is a key part of that transformation.”

Ivkovich spent last year at New Mexico State University as the head strength and conditioning coach for Men’s and Women’s Basketball. Prior to that, Ivkovich worked for three years at the University of Cincinnati. He spent two years as an intern before being named assistant strength coach in 2006. He also spent time as a camp instructor at the Mark Dantonio Football Camp.

While attending Michigan State, Ivkovich spent his senior year as a student intern. He assisted training of MSU’s football, mens basketball, women’s basketball, and hockey teams.

Ivkovich earned a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology from MSU in 2004.
