Kaihla Szunko, a junior on the women's basketball team, is this week's State Farm CMU Scholar-Athlete of the Week.
Szunko collected seven points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals in just 18 minutes in a 74-56 win at Howard on Friday. She followed that with 20 points, seven rebounds and two assists in 32 minutes in an 82-77 loss at Georgetown on Saturday. Her 20 points established a new career high. Szunko ranks second among her teammates in scoring (13.0 ppg) and is tied for the team lead in rebounds (5.7 rpg).
Szunko is a health fitness major with a 3.84 grade-point average.
