An outstanding left-handed pitcher for the Chippewas, Curt was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in 1981 and pitched professionally for 13 seasons ... major league mark was 69-53 with a 4.30 ERA ... was the lone left-handed starter for the two-time World Champion Athletics in the 1980s ... won 13 games in 1986 and '87 for the A's, and was the opening-day pitcher in '87 ... played for Kansas City and the New York Yankees before finishing his career in Oakland ... came to CMU as a football player ... posted a 13-5 record in two baseball seasons with the Chippewas, earning second team and first team all-MAC laurels in 1980 and '81 ... prep product of Saginaw Arthur Hill ... currently the pitching coach for the Oakland A's.
