Ben Presnell is in his fifth season as a member of the Central Michigan University football staff.
As the director of player personnel, Presnell’s duties include roster and scholarship management, coordination and administration of official and unofficial recruiting visits, serving as a liaison to NFL scouts, administering summer camps, along with overseeing the Chippewas’ recruiting board.
Presnell has also served as the program’s coordinator for recruiting and player personnel, as its quality control coach, as a special teams assistant, and as an intern in football operations.
Presnell worked as an intern with the Detroit Lions during the NFL team’s training camp for the 2013 season, working alongside CMU coach John Bonamego, who was then the Lions’ special teams coordinator.
Presnell is the son of Plas Presnell, who spent 31 years as an assistant with the Chippewa program before retiring in 2014.
Ben Presnell was raised in Mount Pleasant, is a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School, and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with regard to the program, its personnel, the campus and the surrounding community.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in entrepreneurship from CMU in 2004 and his master’s in sports administration from CMU in 2013.
He spent nearly a decade working in the online media business in Southern California where he was part of a team that helped launch two very successful online entertainment news websites and TV shows before he returned home to Mount Pleasant to pursue a career in athletics.
Presnell and his wife Liz have been married for four years and have a daughter, Piper.
