MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan football coach John Bonamego has named Ben Presnell as the Director of Football Operations.
Presnell is entering his sixth season as a member of the Chippewa football staff. He previously served as the director of player personnel.
“Ben is a major asset to the program,” said Bonamego, who is in his third year in charge of the program. “He has a proven track record of success, and knows the program, the campus, and the university community inside and out. “
Presnell is the son of Plas Presnell, who spent 31 years as an assistant with the Chippewa program before retiring in 2014. Ben Presnell was raised in Mount Pleasant and is a Mount Pleasant High School graduate. He holds two degrees from CMU, a bachelor’s in entrepreneurship and a Master’s in sports administration.
As the Director of Football Operations, Presnell will oversee the day-to-day administration of the program. Among his duties are team travel coordination, bowl game preparation, facility updates, and budget. He also serves as the head coach's liaison within the athletic department and across campus.
The Chippewas have begun the search to name Presenll’s replacement as the director of player personnel.
CMU opens the season at home on Thursday, Aug. 31, against Rhode Island.
