CMU’s Willow Guenther, Sarah Mesko, Georgina Minta and Leah Umberger were named Scholars of Distinction. To qualify, players had to attain a grade point average of 3.90 or better through the first semester of the 2016-17 academic year.
The quartet represents a wide variety of geographic locations from California to Colorado to Michigan and to Virginia.
To qualify for the team, student-athletes must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and must have competed in at least 50 percent of her team’s contests. Freshmen and first-year transfers are ineligible.
Stalars, a senior from Rhode-Saint-Genése, Belgium, recorded two goals and one assist for five points on the season. She led the Chippewas in shots (30) and shots on goal (14).
