MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Laura Malinoski joined coach Catherine Ostoich’s Central Michigan field hockey staff as an assistant coach in March, 2018.
Malinsoski served from the 2015-17 seasons as an assistant coach at Queens University of Charlotte (N.C.), and has also coached on the club level for the Charlotte Ambush and with USA Field Hockey Futures.
“I am very happy and excited to add Laura to my staff,” said Ostoich, who was named the Chippewas’ head coach in December. “Her energy and passion for the game are contagious and I am excited to see her work with our student-athletes. Her experience starting a program and playing in the MAC as a student-athlete, will really help shape our program and culture.”
Malinoski played at both Ball State and at Appalachian State, from which she earned a bachelor of science degree in 2015, graduating with a 3.28 grade point average. She is working toward her masters degree in sport and athletic administration.
Malinoski earned three letters at Appalachian State, and served as the team captain during both her junior and senior seasons.
As a freshman at Ball State in 2011, Malinoski ranked second on the team in both goals and assists, and was sixth nationally with seven defensive saves. Malinoski was selected to the South Region training team and was invited to try out for the Senior Women’s National Team during her collegiate career.
