MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Eleven Central Michigan student-athletes were named to the 2016 Academic All-Mid-American Conference field hockey team.
Those CMU student-athletes named to the squad, listed with year, grade point average, and major: Harriet Aburn, junior, 3.40, general management; Lily Amadio, sophomore, 3.30, neuroscience; Carly Brengosz, junior, 3.60, exercise science; Ally Davis, sophomore, 3.55, exercise science/kinesiology; Grace Forthaus, sophomore, 3.72, biology; Anna Forry, sophomore, 3.32, interior design; Alex Gonda, junior, 3.23, advertising; Kayla McClure, sophomore, 3.77, environmental health and safety; Maude Stalars, senior, 3.38, international business; Leah Umberger, sophomore, 3.96, biology; Olivia Wagner, senior, 3.78, outdoor recreation.
It marks the third-consecutive year that Stalars and Wagner have earned academic all-conference honors, and that second consecutive year that McClure and Gonda have.
The Chippewas and Missouri State each landed a league-high 11 student-athletes on the team.
To qualify for the team, student-athletes must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and must have competed in at least 50 percent of her team’s contests. Freshmen and first-year transfers are ineligible.
