Chippewas Finish 0-3 In Season-Opening Match Play

LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. – The Central Michigan golf team fell to Fort Wayne, 3-1-1, on Tuesday in its final match in the MAC Match Play Challenge at Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club.

The Chippewas opened the event on Monday with losses to Oakland and to Bowling Green. CMU returns to action at the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational Feb. 24-26 in Rio Verde, Ariz.

Kristen Wolfe, a junior, recorded CMU’s lone win on Tuesday, a 1-up victory over Madison Chessnutt.

Chippewa sophomore Bria Colosky and Jenna Kurosky were all square after 18 and ended in a draw.

In Tuesday’s other matches, all won by Fort Wayne, Linnzie Richner defeated Katie Logan, 1-up; Paige Bird topped Natalie Johnson, 1-up; and Monica Dorner defeated Danielle Sawyer, 5-and-4.
