LEBANON, Ohio -- The Central Michigan women's golf team shot a final-round 346 Sunday to finish in 10th place in the Mid-American Conference Championships at Shaker Run Golf Course.
CMU finished with a 54-hole 1,039 total. The tournament brought to an end Central Michigan's first year of varsity women's golf in 32 years.
Grace Labrecque, the lone senior in CMU's lineup, shot an 11-over 83 on Sunday to tie teammate Natalie Johnson for 46th place at 257. Johnson posted an 86 on Sunday.
Also for CMU on Sunday, Amanda Walsh shot 88 and Kristen Wolfe posted an 89. Wolfe had CMU's best finish, a tie for 44th, at 254. Walsh finished 49th at 271.
Kent State shot a 309 team total on Sunday to finish at 918 and win its 17th consecutive league championship. The Golden Flashes have won every conference title since the MAC instituted the league tournament in 1999.
Eastern Michigan was second, 10 shot back at 928. Toledo (939) was third.
Josee Doyon of Kent State shot her third consecutive 2-over 74 on Sunday to finish at 6-over 222 and claim medalist honors. Patricia Holt of Bowling Green was second at 227.
