EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Central Michigan women's golf team shot 667 Saturday in the opening two rounds of the Mary Fossum Invitational, hosted by Michigan State, at Forest Akers West Golf Course.
The Chippewas are 12th in the 12-team field after 36 holes. Notre Dame shot 589 on Saturday to take a four-shot lead over Tulane. The host Spartans (597) are third, followed by Toledo (605) and Western Michigan (614).
The final 18 holes are scheduled for Sunday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
Central Michigan's Kristen Wolfe shot 80-79 - 159 and is tied for 43rd place. Also for the Chippewas, Bria Colosky shot 82-85 - 167; Natalie Johnson shot 88-82 - 170; and Chloe Guschewski and Holly Hines both shot 175.
Guschewski opened with an 84 then carded a 91, while Hines posted an 86 and an 89.
Sarah Burnham of Michigan State and Emily Penttila of Tulane share the lead at 3-under 141 heading into the final round.
