PORTAGE, Mich. - Kristen Wolfe and Katie Logan both shot 8-over par 80 Tuesday to lead the Central Michigan golf team in the third and final round of the first KZoo Classic at The Moors Golf Club.
The Chippewas shot 325 on Tuesday to finish at 969 and in seventh place in the 10-team event. The Chippewas shot 324 in Monday's opening round, and followed with a 320 in the afternoon round.
Also for CMU on Tuesday, Danielle Sawyer shot 82 and Natalie Johnson posted an 83. The Chippewas' Holly Hines, who shot 78-77 - 155 in the first two rounds, withdrew after four holes on Tuesday.
Central Michigan's Bria Colosky, playing as an individual, shot 83 on Tuesday and finished with a 239 total, tied for 22nd. She opened the tournament on Monday with back-to-back 78s.
Sawyer and Wolfe both finished at 243, tied for 29th, while Logan finished at 246 and in 36th place. Johnson tied for 38th at 248. Fifty-three players finished the tournament.
Hailey Hrynewich of Ohio shot a 1-over 73 on Tuesday to finish at 1-under 215 and capture medalist honors. Eastern Michigan's Thelma Beck and Kelsey Murphy finished tied for second, seven shots back.
Eastern Michigan posted a 305 team score on Tuesday to win the tournament with a three-round 896 total. Ball State (913) was second.
CMU goes to Toledo Rocket Classic on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 11-12, at Catawba Island Club in Port Clinton, Ohio.
