Chippewa Golfers 5th in Fall Finale

SILVER LAKE, Ohio - The Central Michigan golf team closed the fall portion of its season Monday with a fifth-place finish in the five-team Silver Lake Shootout at Silver Lake Country Club.

The Chippewas shot 335-334 - 669 in the event, which comprised five teams, all from the Mid-American Conference.

Akron shot 614 to place first, 10 shots ahead of runner-up Western Michigan. Ohio (631) was third, followed by Bowling Green (645).

Kristen Wolfe was CMU's top finisher as she tied for 20th after shooting 85-82 - 167. Also for the Chippewas, Natalie Johnson shot 83-86 - 169; Danielle Sawyer shot 85-85 - 170; Katie Logan carded 89-81 - 170; and Bria Colosky shot 82-90 - 172.

CMU's Amanda Walsh, playing as an individual, shot 92-92 - 184.

Julia Champion and Jasmine Chee of Western Michigan and Makayla Dull of Akron each totaled 150 to tie for first place individually. Thirty-two players completed the tournament.
