MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan women’s golf team recorded a cumulative grade point average of 3.47 for the fall semester.
Four of the seven student-athletes on the team recorded a GPA of 3.50 or better. Those four are Natalie Johnson, 3.92; Hannah Matthies, 3.80; Kristen Wolfe, 3.75; and Bria Colosky, 3.56.
Matthies is a senior, Wolfe and Johnson are sophomores, and Colosky is a freshman.
“I am extremely proud and honored to be coaching a team with such great work ethic both on the golf course and in the classroom,” coach Cheryl Stacy said. “Our team GPA of 3.47 shows their dedication and willingness to help build a ‘Championship Culture’ within our young program which will set the standard for future Chippewas. Our future is bright.”
CMU resurrected its women’s golf program in 2014 after a 32-year hiatus. The Chippewas begin the spring season on Feb. 8-9 at the Women’s MAC Match Play Challenge in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
