SETTING THE SCENE
The Central Michigan golf team will partake in the Spring Break Shootout at Lake Jovita Golf Club in Dade City, Fla.
The 54-hole stroke-play tournament begins with 36 holes on Monday and concludes with the final 18-hole round on Tuesday. Lake Jovita will play to par 72 over 6,321 yards.
Florida Gulf Coast and Western Kentucky are co-hosting the event. Joining the Chippewas and the hosts in the field are Arkansas State, Arkansas Little Rock, Ball State, Florida Atlantic, Fort Wayne, Georgia Southern, Jacksonville, Lipscomb, Oakland, Ohio, and Towson.
It is the first time the Chippewas are playing in the Shootout.
LAST TIME OUT
CMU freshman Jami Laude shot 74-71-76 – 221 to finish tied for 16th in the 92-player field at the North Florida Collegiate at Jacksonville (Fla.) Golf and Country Club. Laude etched her name in the program record book, setting CMU marks for an 18-hole round, a 36-hole total and a 54-hole total.
The Chippewas are scheduled to play in the John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate in Stockbridge, Ga. March 25-27. The event is hosted by Georgia State.
