STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. – The Central Michigan women’s golf team will begin play Sunday in the 23rd annual John Kirk Panther Collegiate, hosted by Georgia State.
The three-day, 54-hole stroke play event is scheduled for Eagle’s Landing Country Club.
Scheduled to join the Chippewas and the host Panthers are Appalachian State, Brown, Cal State Fullerton, Eastern Kentucky, Elon, Florida Gulf Coast, Illinois State, South Alabama, Alabama-Birmingham, Louisiana-Monroe, Western Carolina, Western Kentucky and Western Michigan.
The Chippewas are coming off a 19th-place finish last weekend at the Citrus Challenge in Sorrento, Fla. Sophomore Natalie Johnson led CMU with a 77-85-74 – 236 total, which tied her for 67th in the 118-player field.
Kristen Wolfe leads the Chippewas with a 79.50 scoring average, while Johnson is second at 81.64.
The Chippewas will next be in action on April 9-10 at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational, hosted by Bowling Green, at Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green, Ohio.
The Mid-American Conference Championships are scheduled for April 22-24 at Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville, Ind.
