Golf Team Earns NCAA Academic Accolades

May 3, 2017

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan women’s team was recognized by the NCAA with its Public Recognition Award for its outstanding academic achievements.

The awards, based on a team’s Academic Progress Rate, go to athletic teams that post multiyear APRs in the top 10 percent of all squads in a given sport. The Chippewas have earned a spot in the top 10 in each of the three seasons since the program’s resurrection in fall, 2014. Their current cumulative GPA is 3.478.

The APR accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation, and provides a tangible measure of a team’s academic performance.
