Three Chippewas Partake in Women's Am

SPRING LAKE, Mich. – Three members of the Central Michigan women’s golf team played this week in the 99th Michigan Women’s Amateur at Spring Lake Country Club.

The Chippewas’ Kristen Wolfe, Natalie Johnson and Chloe Guschewski played in the tournament, which brings together the state’s top female amateurs.

Wolfe shot 85-78 – 163 to finish tied for 41st, while Johnson and Guschewski both finished with a 164 total and among a group tied for 46th. Johnson shot 84-80, Guschewski came in at 86-78.

All three are sophomores-to-be on the CMU women’s golf team, which opens the 2015 fall season with the Michigan State Mary Fossum Invitational on Sept. 12-13.

The field was cut to the low 32 after 36 holes of stroke play. Those 32 squared off in match play beginning on Wednesday morning. The tournament is scheduled to conclude with the championship match on Friday.
