EAST LANSING, Mich. - Amanda Walsh shot an 87 Sunday to the Central Michigan women's golf team in the final round of the Mary Fossum Invitational on Forest Akers East Golf Course at Michigan State University.
CMU's Arielle Roberts shot 91 on Sunday to finish with a 54-hole total of 254 to lead CMU. Walsh finished at 256.
The Chippewas ended the weekend in 15th place with a 1,045 team score, 15 shots behind 14th-place Ferris State.
Notre Dame shot 307 on Sunday to finish at 913 and claim the team title. The Fighting Irish began the day in seventh place. Host Michigan State was second at 917, two shots better than third-place Toledo.
Meghan MacLaren of Florida International closed with a 2-over 74 on Sunday to finish at 5-over 221 and claim medalist honors. Gabrielle Shipley finished one shot back.
The Chippewas are scheduled to play in the Cardinal Classic in Yorktown, Ind., on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 22-23. The event is hosted by Ball State.
