The Central Michigan golf team will partake in the Dayton Flyer Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. The 54-hole, stroke-play tournament begins with 36 holes on Monday. The final 18-hole round is scheduled for Tuesday.
It is the Chippewas’ final event of the fall portion of their 2017-18 season. It is the first half of the season since CMU resurrected its women’s golf program in 2014-15.
The 14-team field will play on the NCR Country Club’s North Course, which will play to par 70 over 5,826 yards.
In their first four tournaments of 2017-18, the Chippewas have set team program records for best 18-hole , 36-hole and 54-hole scores, and freshman Jami Laude has set program marks for 36- and 54-hole totals.
The Chippewas finished ninth in the 10-team Shirley Spork EMU Invitational at Eagle Crest Resort in Ypsilanti, Mich.
CMU senior Natalie Johnson continued her steady fall season with a 232 total (78-75-79) en route to a 17th-place finish in the 58-player field at the Shirley Spork.
