Andy Sneddon,

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan’s Jami Laude has been named the Mid-American Conference Golfer of the Week.

Laude, a freshman from Ann Arbor, was named the league’s top player after shooting 72-75 – 147 to finish among a group tied for fourth in the Dayton Fall Invitational at NRC Country Club.

Laude’s 147 total is a CMU 36-hole record, and her opening-round 72 tied for the best in program history. Her 72 led the Chippewas to an opening-round 305 team score, the best ever for a CMU squad.

Laude’s finish is just the second top five for a Chippewa golfer since the program was resurrected before the 2014-15 season. She is the first golfer in CMU history to garner the weekly MAC award.

The Skyline High School graduate finished the five-tournament fall portion of CMU’s schedule with a team-best 77.86 average.
