MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan gymnastics coach Jerry Reighard has announced the signing of three student-athletes who will join the Chippewa program for the 2019 season.
The class comprises Michigan-native Alaina Kosto of New Haven, Canadian Morgan Tong, and Sierra DeMarinis of Montgomery, Mass.
All three are accomplished and highly decorated on the youth/amateur level.
Reighard, who is in his fourth decade as the Chippewas' coach, said all three of the program signees is capable of making an immediate impact.
Kosto, who trains at Hunt's Gymnastics Academy in Harrison Township, "is just coming into her own," Reighard said. "She is a very good beam worker and that's what attracted us to her. We really feel like she's on a learning curve. In this program she will get better and better. We really like her work ethic. She's one that our fans are going to want to watch and keep track of."

"She's a very good all-arounder and her strongest events are bars and beam," Reighard said. "She really has a unique look and that's what we were searching for. She has a really high ceiling and we think she will continue to excel all four years."
DeMarinis, who trains at Roots Gymnastics Club in Westfield, is a "solid all-arounder" who excels on vault and on floor, Reighard said.
"She really has competitive Division I skills in those two events and that's what really attracted us to her," he said.
