MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Three Central Michigan lacrosse players were selected to the All-Southern Conference Preseason Team.
CMU’s Emma Hamilton, Jocelyne Lemay and Logan Halvorson each earned a spot on the 14-player squad.
Lemay, a junior midfielder, scored 49 goals last season, while Hamilton, a sophomore attacker, had 27. Halvorson, a junior, picked up 55 ground balls and totaled 42 draw controls last season.
2018 marks the inaugural season for SoCon lacrosse, which comprises six teams, Furman, Mercer, CMU, Detroit Mercy, Wofford and Delaware State.
Furman was picked to finish first in a poll of league coaches, followed by Mercer, CMU, Detroit Mercy, Wofford and Delaware State. The Chippewas, Furman, Mercer, Detroit Mercy and Delaware State competed last season in the Atlantic Sun. Wofford is beginning it inaurgural season of women’s lacrosse.
The Chippewas open the season on Feb. 16 at Marquette.
