CMU pitcher Rachael Knapp was named the MAC West Pitcher of the Week on Monday after going a combined 2-1 against Oakland and Bowling Green last week. The senior struck out 23 in 19 innings and posted a 1.11 earned run average. She allowed three hits in each of her two wins.
Knapp, a senior from St. Joseph, went 2-1 with 23 strikeouts and a 1.11 earned run average in 19 innings last week.
Next up for Central Michigan is a nonleague home game with 23rd-ranked Michigan on Tuesday (4 p.m.) at Margo Jonker Stadium.
CMU outhit the Falcons, 20-9, in the doubleleader. Sophomore Erika Underwood, who homered Wednesday in CMU’s win over Oakland, had five hits and drove in five runs on the day.
