Jenny Swieton was named today as the Chippewas’ director of track and field/cross country by CMU Director of Athletics Michael Alford. Her official start date with CMU is Monday, Aug. 14
The USTFCCCA recognized 218 women’s teams and 142 men’s teams for the award, which goes to Division I programs with a team grade point average of 3.0 or better. The Chippewa men compiled a team GPA of 3.055, while the women ranked in the top half of those honored at 3.333.
Williams recently completed a standout freshman year for the Chippewas, while Howard and Dunn redshirted in 2017 and will begin their collegiate careers with the 2018 indoor season.
CMU's Dylan Banagis was named a Distinguished Scholar Athlete for the third consecutive year, while Daniel Jipping of the baseball team and Natalie Johnson of the women's golf team were each named for the second straight year.
