MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Central Michigan senior volleyball player Jordan Bueter has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Offensive Player of the Week.

Bueter, an outside hitter, recorded 65 kills and six service aces en route to earning a spot of the all-tournament team in the Chippewa Invitational.

The South Bend, Ind. native led the Chippewas to a 2-1 finish in the tournament. She posted 30 kills on 70 attempts in a 3-2 comeback victory over Indiana State in the tournament opener, then posted 12 kills with three aces in a 3-0 loss to Cleveland State.

Bueter closed the tournament with a record-breaking performance with 23 kills on 52 attempts in a three-set win over IUPUI. The senior set the CMU post rally scoring era three-set record in kills and attempts.

The senior averaged 6.82 points and 5.91 kills per set in CMU's three tournament matches. She leads the Chippewas in both kills (167) and service aces (13).

Bueter leads the MAC in both kills and kills per set (4.91).

It marks the third consecutive week that a CMU player has earned the MAC West Offensive Player of the Week Award. Bueter was honored last week when the Chippewas posted a 2-1 record at the George Mason Invitational. Senior middle blocker Paige Carey received this accolade when CMU opened the season by going 3-0 in the Army Invitational.

Central Michigan is 7-2 to start out the 2017 campaign. The Chippewas are scheduled to travel to Notre Dame, Ind. to take on Southern Illinois, Michigan State and Notre Dame in the Shamrock Invitational this weekend.
